The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Dessert Preparation: Prep fresh ingredients and assemble Dolci Vita desserts to our quality and presentation standards.
  • Order Accuracy (POS + Delivery Platforms): Prepare, label, and pack orders accurately for in-store, website orders, and delivery apps (Uber/Deliveroo) using the POS and tablet system.
  • Customer Excellence: Provide friendly, fast, and professional service to every customer, including resolving basic issues calmly and escalating when needed.
  • Maintenance and Hygiene: Maintain a spotless, food-safe workspace at all times.
  • Teamwork: Support coworkers during rush periods, communicate clearly, and follow manager direction.

Requirements

  • Dessert / Hospitality Experience: Experience in a bakery, dessert shop, cafe, or fast-paced food environment is preferred. You must be comfortable with food handling and dessert assembly.
  • Late Availability: Must be able to work late shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required. Our busiest hours are often in the evening.
  • Multi-tasking: Ability to stay calm and efficient during rush periods while keeping standards high.
  • Attention to Detail: Pride in presentation, packaging, and consistency.
  • Reliability: Strong punctuality and attendance, with clear communication if problems arise.
Leadership

Manager

The Role

As a Manager at Dolci Vita, you are responsible for more than running a shift. You set the pace, protect the standards, and keep the team calm and coordinated during busy service. We need someone who can balance leadership, precision, and hospitality while keeping operations smooth across in-store, website, and delivery orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shift Running: Lead the shift from open to close, including staff deployment, pace, and prioritisation during rush periods.
  • Cash Handling and Cashing Up: Follow cash procedures, manage cashing up, and complete end-of-day checks accurately.
  • Stock Control: Monitor stock levels (cakes, sauces, packaging) and ensure restocking is completed from back fridge/storeroom as required. Record low stock and support ordering routines if applicable.
  • Quality Control: Ensure desserts meet Dolci Vita standards for taste, temperature, presentation, and packaging before leaving the store.
  • Customer Recovery: Handle complaints, missing items, refunds, and delivery platform issues professionally and quickly.
  • Training Sign-Off: Train new starters, coach crew members, and complete probation reviews and training sign-off documentation.
  • Maintenance and Hygiene: Enforce hygiene standards, cleaning routines, and safe equipment use.
  • Opening and Closing: Ensure checklists are completed fully and correctly, including the switch-off policy (everything off except front and back fridges).

Requirements

  • Management Experience: Previous experience supervising or managing in a dessert shop, cafe, restaurant, or fast-paced food environment is preferred.
  • Systems Confidence: Comfortable managing POS and tablets.
  • Strong leadership & training capabilities.
